THE ROLE: We are currently recruiting for an experienced Manufacturing / Production manager to oversee our Operations Department. The Manufacturing Manager has overall responsibility for the timely receipt and delivery of all inventory as well as the manufacture and delivery of inhouse fabrication. This exciting position will appeal to an experienced production/ operations or workshop manager looking to challenge themselves. You will bring your experience in production processes to this key leadership role to ensure smooth running of the Inhouse fabrication and stores function, meeting targets and delivering all fabrication orders on time to agreed quality standards.


  • Taking guidance from Senior Management and in response to business needs ensure adherence to fabrication needs and schedule.
  • Ensure the timely procurement and delivery of inventory, the accurate recording of stock liability and manage incoming and outgoing delivery schedules.
  • With the assistance of Supervisors effectively manage a team of skilled and semi-skilled Operatives in both stores and workshop floor areas. These include mechanical fabricators, electricians, warehousing and related skills.
  • Monitor output of individual Operatives in the workshop and stores area.
  • Drive continuous improvement and efficiencies in the production process and identify areas for innovation and development.
  • Manage an drive compliance to a number of regulatory standards including ISO.
  • Champion and lead Health & Safety and safe working practices in both the workshop and
  • stores environment.
  • Define and implement SOP’s for each aspect of order pick & pack, Goods in, Goods out, stock taking and warehouse management that represent best practice.
  • Map out and implement a way of working for ongoing stock counting and reconciling to ensure tight and accurate control of inventory.
  • Define and set relevant KPi’s for operations team to ensure productivity and efficiency.
  • Respond to feedback/complaints and service quality issues implementing corrective actions.
  • Be available for out of hour’s problem solving for all aspects of Operations.


  • Proven track record in warehouse and/ or operations/ workshop supervision with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar type of role.
  • Proficient with the use of the Microsoft Office suite especially Excel.
  • Experience working to tight deadlines and ability to excel in a KPI driven environment.
  • Passion for the health and safety of people, plant, equipment and the environment, and a desire to embed that culture widely across the facility. Strong knowledge of tools and equipment, systems and documentation associated with fabrication.
  • Excellent communication, inter-personal and stakeholder management skills suited to management level representation.
