It is a very exciting time to join Writech! We have ambitious growth plans and the construction of our Design & Innovation Centre underway. As a part of this expansion, we are seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will report to the QS/ Estimator and assist in the preparation of tender submissions and monitoring of project pricing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with preparing Tenders for jobs.
  • Prepare reports on job costing.
  • Compiling tender files.
  • Forward ordering project materials as quantified.
  • Assist in the preparation of variations, valuations, final accounts. Ensuring the agreed submission dates are achieved.
  • Prepare weekly reports on job progress.
  • Preparation of final accounts.
  • Review and interpretation of tender documents, specifications, contracts & other related materials.
  • Assessing labour costs.
  • Effective liaison, support and assistance between the tender process department, Senior Management, rest of organisation.
  • Support the compilation of Quality Tender Submissions
  • Monitoring of the tender submission process for accuracy, formatting, completeness, consistency, and compliance.
  • Monitoring of the overall performance of the tender process to obtain maximum efficiency, quality, service and profitability for the organisation.
  • Partaking in pre-, mid- & post-tender meetings.
  • Maintaining accurate records and managing data related to the tendering process.
  • Assist in streamlining tender processes.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • 1-2 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor or recent graduate.
  • 3rd level Qualification in Quantity Surveying / Construction or other relevant discipline.
  • Strong operational skills and an attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and communication skills verbal.
  • Strong customers focus skills and attitude.
  • Analytical thinker with demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft excel and project.
  • DrivenTeamplayer.
  • Exceptional Organisational skills.
  • Experience of Cost X or Buildsoft would be an advantage.
  • Experience of Auto Cad and BIM systems would be an advantage.
  • Sound working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite.
