Job Description

Following recent investment by private equity firm Waterland, Writech Group, one of the UK & Ireland’s premier Fire Protection companies is currently in a rapid growth phase. In recent weeks the Group has recently completed the acquisition of UK and Swedish based companies Compco Fire System Limited and CE Sprinklers. In addition, Writech Group, has opened a state of art innovations centre at its head office in Mullingar.

To support the Group’s ambitious strategy, we are now looking for an enthusiastic Office Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will experience the full spectrum of working within and contributing to a successful and growing business.

THE ROLE:  Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, the Office Manager is responsible for the day-to-day accounts and administration processes. This role is perfect for a person requiring a challenge and who is willing to learn and contribute to the long-term goals of the company. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once and take on new challenges.

The ideal candidate will be methodical in all areas of their work, have excellent computer skills and enjoy a busy office environment. Ability to motivate and lead a team, setting targets and reviewing performance is essential.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure delivery of accurate monthly management accounts to tight deadlines and provide management analysis on performance.
  • Overhead variance analysis to budget and budgetary reporting.
  • Prepared detailed costing analysis to support decision making.
  • Cashflow forecasting to always ensure a healthy liquidity position.
  • Overall responsibility for AP & AR functions – to include management of the day-to-day workload of the team as well as reviewing and optimising current processes.
  • Take ownership of the weekly/monthly payroll process.
  • Put in place appropriate controls to manage business risks.
  • Ensure a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets, improve operations and profitability.
  • Monitor systems to ensure accuracy of data and support the achievement of revenue goals.
  • Assist internal, external, and regulatory audit processes.
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and ensures account balances are supported by appropriate documentation in accordance with SOPs.
  • Regular reporting of KPIs to Management and identify and isolate unusual trends and or material cost increases requiring attention.
  • Ensure that all statutory returns are completed on time e.g., VAT, Intrastat, VIES.
  • Support of all team members to ensure proper procedures are being followed and queries are being resolved in a timely manner.
  • Monitor team performance and arrange training where necessary.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • Ability to communicate complex information in a concise and clear manner.

  • Excellent MS Office skills, notably Excel.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and problem solve.
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritise multiple activities with competing deadlines.

Hours: Working week is 9:00am to 5:30pm – Monday to Thursday, 9:00am – 5:00pm Friday.
