Job Description

We have ambitious expansion plans and are investing in new technology, systems and facilities. We want to bring on board an energetic, ambitious and effective Operations Manager who can work with the management team to develop the company's Production capability, implement best practice systems, structures and ways of working to create a high performing Production team. You will be ultimately responsible for the smooth running of all production lines and the quality of output.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive continuous improvement and efficiencies in the production process and identify areas for innovation and development
  • Develop and build an effective and growth-focused Production team structure and culture, introduce procedures and ways of working based on Lean principles and techniques.
  • Effectively manage manpower planning, recruitment, training and cross training, performance management and remuneration.
  • Co-ordinate Production resources (people, materials and processes) and collaborate with other departments, to deliver production capacity that meets company sales requirements on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.
  • Meet Production KPI's and implement improvement programmes to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of production systems, processes and procedures.
  • Oversee the introduction and commissioning of new technology, processes and equipment.
  • Stay abreast of the latest manufacturing technologies and implement and advise as appropriate.
  • Map out and implement a way of working for ongoing stock counting and reconciling to ensure tight and accurate control of inventory.
  • Liaise with the R&D Department to develop new products and solutions.
  • Collaborate with and support other Managers within the organisation on operational issues, best practices, and Business Development initiatives.
  • select equipment and take responsibility for its maintenance. Organise the repair of any damaged equipment
  • Responsibility for ensuring that all maintenance work is carried out accurately and with due diligence;

The Person:

The ideal candidate will be highly organised with excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail. You will have:

  • 3 - 5  years  experience in a similar role, ideally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of implementing new and effective systems, procedures and processes.
  • Qualification in an Engineering or Manufacturing technology discipline is an advantage.
  • Experience of using Lean Techniques is beneficial.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to engage with and influence people throughout the organisation.
  • Excellent HR practices skills, have good judgment and decision-making skills. Can deal with employees on a one to one basis.

  • the ability to work under pressure and multitask.

    Terms: 40 hr standard week; Contract duration: 9 to 12 month initial term with a view to permanency. Salary:DOE
