Mechanical Buyer

My client is a leading name in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering with a presence throughout Ireland, UK and Europe. They are currently undertaking a large number of projects  with an increasing workload for 2023. To that effect, they are recruiting for an additional buyer to join their team in Leixlip.

You will ideally have a similar Mechanical background or knowledge and experience in the construction sector coupled with relevant qualifications. Duties will include;

• Purchasing quality project materials at the lowest possible cost in correct amounts per specifications, drawings and field input.
• Communicating with various internal departments and disciplines to evaluate and monitor contract performance, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. 
• Liaising with staff, users and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or service and determine corrective action.
• Utilising the ERP software to track and update transactions
• Leveraging with vendors/subcontractors across multiple fields to create cost savings to projects.
  Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities and the supplier’s reputation and history.
