Retail & office based role

Lakeland Kayaks are excited to be recruiting for a full/part-time role for our flagship store in Mullingar. 

About us

Lakeland Kayaks Ltd is an award-winning business, trading since 2020. We have evolved from a being primarily an e-commerce business to opening our flagship store on Harbour st, Mullingar last year. Our business continues to expand with our trademarked brand SKIPJAK being picked up by major retails such as Intersport Elverys. We ship our product nationwide daily, dispatching on average over 450 items monthly. We hope to further our market through central European trade and many other outlets.

The Role

The role is listed as retail and office based. This role requires the ability to work in both store and office - primarily in a customer service/sales based role. Our brand pillars should always be at the forefront and reflected in the service received by customers: Care, Trust, Quality and Adventure. Through training and shadowing you will develop an understanding of our products from which you can assist a customer on their retail journey with us from the moment they make contact to post sale after care. We pride ourselves on a high standard of customer care and relationships which is reflected through our Trustpilot score of 4.9/5 stars. This role will initially begin as part-time while becoming full time during our high summer months. The role is spread throughout the week with weekends/bank holidays worked rotationally through our team. More weekend/sunday work will be required through the summer months. There is room for promotion within our Company as we expand should the candidate prove themselves to be eligble for such promotions. 

The Candidate

The candidate should have experience in a customer care based role and be comfortable navigating this space and the challenges customer care may bring with care and efficacy. Communication, empathy and mindfulness are key attributes the candidate should have. They should be self motivated, conscious of effort with a positive mindset. Our team means alot to us here at Lakeland Kayaks and so the candidate should be friendly, happy working with others and take direction well from colleagues and management. 

Summary of Duties

• Customer care focused
• Responsibile for telecommunications with customers via phone and email as well as storefront, face to face interactions
• Keep a high level of professionalism and customer care etiquette
• Outgoing and adventureous types - we sell fun, activity and adventure
• Other duties includes: stocking the store, stock takes, organising storage areas, maintaning a clean and presentable store and workplace, opening and closing, merchandising. 
• Representing the company at seminars/informational events held by local groups and government groups
• Being on hand to help for out of office activites such as kayak rentals/photoshoots/videography
• Assisting customers to load cars with kayaks, demonstrating how to use products
• Moving kayaks from our warehouse to store

• Driving license for manual car preferred
