Job Description

Kilbeggan Medical Centre is currently recruiting for a medical secretary.

This role will involve preparation of prescriptions, typing of medical letters/reports and general medical administration duties. Touch/Dictaphone typing skills are essential combined with IT skills.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Review and preparation of prescriptions for doctor sign off
  • Audio Typing documents
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Dealing with patient queries face to face and all telephone queries
  • Responsible for taking payments, cashing up and balancing books
  • Supporting doctors and admin team with all admin and ad hoc duties
  • Office filing, scanning, updating Patient database and Retrieving patient charts

Experience Required:

  • Qualification in office management, including advanced knowledge in Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a busy administrative environment, ideally within the medical sector
  • Demonstrates experience of working as part of a very busy team in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and the drive for continuous improvement
