Mergon International wishes to recruit a intern to work with our EHS Department over the summer period. Supporting the Health, Safety and Facilities Manager, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in preparing for Environmental and Health & Safety audits as well as maintaining both systems on a day to day basis.
The main duties will include:
- Maintaining and updating the Environmental Management System
- Assisting in preparation for Environmental and Health & Safety audits
- Carrying out risk assessments in manufacturing, warehouse and office areas
- Developing and implementing safety policies and initiatives across the site
- Conducting period health, safety and environmental audits and inspections of on-site activities
- Identification of site health and safety training needs and assisting in the organisation and delivery of training as appropriate
- Participating in accident/incident investigations
- Maintaining KPI Data
The successful candidate will have or be currently studying for a qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science or a related discipline, be able to work on their own initiative, have good organisation skills, be enthusiastic and results orientated.
