Quantity Surveyor/Estimator

My client is a specialist Design & Build Contractor currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor. Projects typically are high end commercial fit outs ranging in value from €350K to €5M and they have a steady flow of work with repeat clients. 

The company has expanded steadily since their inception and have quickly established themselves as innovative and professional in their approach providing a one stop shop for clients. Senior Management within the company give scope to employees to fulfil their potential beyond the constraints of qualifications and a common sense approach prevails from the top down.

The ideal candidate will have 3-4yrs experience in a quantity surveying or indeed in a pure estimating role. As a small company you will be involved in the complete life cycle of projects from pre contract pricing stage through to final accounts.

You will have a solid background in construction and although a qualification in Quantity Surveying would be preferred, those with construction management or engineering qualifications will most definitely be considered if they have the relevant experience. Your role will include;

• Pre contract collation of sub contract pricing
• In cooperation with Commercial Manager, measure, price, negotiate and agree budgets and costs for variations to project scope.
• Create and maintain trackers for variations, extensions of time and report on same
• Preparation of Cost Reports and reviewing of project cost reports.
• Subcontractor procurement and account reviews during project.
• Daily liaison with accounts department, purchasing and site management
• Review of supplier requisitions and accounts.
• Review of subcontractor documents and updating of templates, including appointment documents, payment certificates.

This role will be fast paced and varied. It may suit a confident Estimator with 3+yrs experience who wishes to gain more post contract quantity surveying experience
