Role

  • Ensure correct trailer utilisation through engagement with Packing team leaders and McBurney shunting service. Report any instances where correct trailers are not available.
  • Temperature control – ensure trailers are loaded in a manner that achieves the required product temperature on despatch.
  • Ensure accuracy of information on transfer notes. Codes / Pallet numbers / Trailer numbers are all used by our Distribution providers for receipting stock and prioritising shipping. Information must be correct.
  • Health and Safety – carry out your role in a manner that does not endanger yourself or any of you colleagues or Visitors.  Insure the Yard is clear and clean.
  • Insure the use of the IBS’s in front of trailers so we will not have a drive off.
  • Audit Readiness - Participate with all members of the stores team to achieve and maintain a high standard in the department. Each operator is assigned a specific area of responsibility for Audit Readiness.
  • To supply all ingredients and packing to Production to ensure a smooth production run.
  • Good Manufacturing practise – carry out role in a manner that does not create property damage including equipment and working environment including logistics Yard. Participate in the monitoring of Department damage through a Shift Hand-Over process.
  • Take in deliveries from Suppliers ensuring high standards on accepting goods, and adherence to good housekeeping in the placement of this new stock in the relevant storage area.
  • Complete stock take at the weekends as requested by the Stores Manager.

Qualifications and / or Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in Materials Department.
  • Demonstrable experience in stock management
  • Some Experience in Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing environment an advantage
  • Experience in the use of forklifts
  • Attention to detail a key attribute of the role
  • Self-motivated and ability to work on own initiative
