Job Description:  Kinnegad Combined Community Employment Scheme CLG (KCCES CLG) is an Environmental Scheme providing support to various groups - Tidy Towns, Sporting Organisations and Community Groups. The Community Employment Scheme has Participants allocated in Rochfortbridge, Milltownpass, Killucan, Raharney, Kinnegad, Clonard, Castlejordan and Ballinabrackey. The goals and aspirations of the scheme is to provide work experience, training and development opportunities to participants working on the scheme in line with all requirements laid down by our funders and to comply with corporate legislations.

KCCES CLG is an innovative organisation striving to work with local organisations to help achieve their goals and to support participants in achieving their goals and in finding secure employment for their future advancement.

Main duties: Assist in the business administration and financial functions of the project as directed by the Sponsor. Assist the CE Supervisor in sourcing and costing effective training/development opportunities to meet the training needs identified in participants Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and maintain accurate training records. Provide effective supervisory cover in the absence of the CE Supervisor as directed by the Sponsor, if qualified for the post. Assist in ensuring the CE scheme is compliant with financial and programme and training monitoring requirements as detailed in the relevant CE procedures.  Assist the CE Supervisor in the recruitment of new participants.  Preparing payroll claims through the Application for Wages and Supervision Sheet system (AWS). Liaising with Department of Social Protection (DSP) and KCCES CLG relating to all aspects of programme management.

Key Requirements:

·         Previous office management/supervisory experience and a knowledge of community activities

·         Reasonable knowledge and understanding of the role of the CE Assistant Supervisor in terms of the administration and day to day running of a CE scheme

·         Competent in the administrative, technical & participant development aspects of the project

·         Excellent computer skills e.g. Word, Excel, Internet, e-mail, Payroll, computerised accounts

·         Excellent team working, communication and inter-personal skills.

·         Ability to direct, motivate, coach and mentor jobseekers.

·         Ability to work under the direction of Sponsor group to implement the CE Programme in line with CE Operational procedures.

·         the necessary skills to undertake all of the administration duties required for the scheme at this level.

·         knowledge of community activities and work

·         A full driver's licence and own car. 

Desirable Requirements:

·         Experience of project management including administration and budget management

·         Good understanding of adult and community education in a community-based setting

·         A capacity to initiate and develop a strong teamwork ethic and the ability to work on own initiative.


Hours: 39 hours per week, Mon – Friday (excluding lunch breaks)

Salary: the successful applicant will commence at Point 2 (€495.30) of the Assistant Supervisor wage grant funding scale unless currently working as an Assistant CE Supervisor.
