Electrical Estimator

What you need to know
Matrix Recruitment is seeking to recruit an Electrical Estimator for our client.

This role is based all over Ireland, working fully remote with expectations to travel to site potentially once a month.


This is a permanent role.

Your new job
Key duties & responsibilities:

• Responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for electrical projects, particularly those involving (HV), (MV), (LV) systems.
• Evaluating project plans.
• Reading technical specifications,
• Coordinating the tendering process to ensure that bids are competitive and complete.

What are we looking for?

• 3 yrs + Experience estimating costs for electrical projects in the energy sector

Industry Experience:

• Electrical Engineering: Experience with electrical systems, especially in HV, MV, or LV systems.
• Energy Sector: Familiarity with projects in utilities, particularly those involving transmission and distribution of electricity, such as substations, wind farms, or solar projects.

Technical Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret electrical technical specifications and employer requirements, particularly for design and build projects in HV substations and renewable energy projects (e.g., wind farms).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimation software.

Project Management Experience:

• Experience in managing the tendering process, handling multiple projects simultaneously, and interfacing with various departments.
• Ability to foresee project risks and communicate these to the bid team.

Additional Preferred Experience:

• Experience in the renewable energy sector (solar/wind energy) is desirable but not essential
