On behalf of our client based in the public health sector, we are now recruiting for a behaviour specialist based in Portlaoise, Co. Laois. This role is full time on a temporary basis and remuneration is reflected on the national salary scale for this position.
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the planning, delivery, and review of patient care using evidence-based, care-planning approaches, ensuring adherence to professional standards, guidelines, and legislation.
- Provide clinical leadership, working with healthcare teams, service users, and families to ensure coordinated care, communication, and support across various healthcare programmes.
- Ensure nursing care aligns with the Nursing Midwifery Board Ireland's guidelines and professional ethics, maintaining confidentiality, dignity, and respect for service users.
- Participate in clinical audits, research, and quality management programmes, and contribute to the development of best practices, policies, and guidelines to enhance patient care and services.
- Act as a resource for children, families, and staff by providing education, practical skill training, and support, particularly in managing transitions, promoting independence, and handling complex medical processes.
- Use patient feedback and clinical outcomes to innovate care delivery, continuously improving services and developing new policies to meet evolving patient needs, especially for young people with disabilities.
- Develop, implement, and manage safety procedures, ensuring adherence to health and safety policies, infection control, emergency protocols, and statutory obligations, while reporting and addressing risks that affect staff or service user wellbeing.
- Ensure compliance with Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) standards and HSE protocols, while promoting sustainable practices in energy, water, and waste management to enhance healthcare efficiency.
- Stay updated with nursing literature, research, and advancements in nursing practice, while participating in relevant training, study days, and performance review processes for personal growth.
- Support the development and education of nursing and non-nursing staff, supervise and assess student nurses, and provide guidance to Clinical Nurse Manager 1 and front-line staff to foster a positive clinical learning environment.
- Exercise authority in the running of the assigned area(s) as deputised by the CNM3
- Provide the necessary supervision, co-ordination and deployment of nursing and support staff to ensure the optimum delivery of care in the designated area(s)
