Automation Engineer – Decotek Automotive Ltd. (Collinstown, Co. Westmeath)

Decotek Automotive Ltd., a leading manufacturer of automotive components, is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our Engineering and Maintenance team.

This role is ideal for a technically minded professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is passionate about automation, robotics, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide maintenance and technical support for automated machinery and production systems.

• Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns to minimize downtime.

• Perform planned preventative maintenance and tool changes in line with schedules.

• Develop, modify, and optimize PLC and robot programs (Omron, Siemens, Mitsubishi, ABB, Kuka).

• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and performance.

• Maintain and update machine safety systems, replacing or repairing components where necessary.

• Source and manage spare parts for mechanical and electrical equipment.

• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company policies and standards.

Skills & Experience:

• Qualification in Electro-Mechanical Maintenance or a related technical discipline.

• Previous experience in an automated or manufacturing environment.

• Strong troubleshooting, fault-finding, and problem-solving skills.

• Proven experience with PLC and robotics programming.

• Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
