We’re looking for a Senior PHP Developer to join our team. We are a scaling Irish Software company, fully funded and based in Kilkenny, Ireland. This is an exciting time to join the company as we are on a significant growth trajectory, with a growing order book from enterprise clients in the state and semi-state sectors.

As a senior engineer, you will use your minimum of 3 years of experience to be responsible for the technical success of our customers’ requirements on our existing PHP dashboard, translating complicated business logic into workable code. No two days will be the same. In addition, you will be a key contributor to our strategic product roadmap. We have a great team of other junior developers in house as well as an international support in front . We always welcome the opportunity to mentor and support junior developers on their learning journey and you will have the opportunity to build your own team as we grow.

We know that communication is key to any meaningful relationship so the successful candidate will demonstrate superior communication skills and a commitment to be in Kilkenny on a regular basis without the 9-5 commitment, as working from home can be arranged on a number of days per week. Alternatively  the package includes rental for 3 months in a beautiful self contained country cottage within 5km of the office.

Reporting to the VP of Engineering and CEO


What you will need to succeed

If you have over   years’ development experience and are looking for the next step in your career, have a look below.  We know that there is no such thing as a perfect match when it comes to technical skills, but we’ve put a list together of what a good fit might look like:

  • Object Oriented PHP 5.x, 7,x
  • Familiarity with at least one major PHP MVC Web Framework.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based development and deployment, preferably Google Cloud.
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
  • Relational Database Design
  • Experience with Object Orientated Design
  • Experience with Python or Java
  • Experience with  Kubernetes, Helm, Docker
  • Experience with CI/CD (preferably Jenkins)
  • Experience in designing microservices
  • Experience with ECMA6, React.js, Redux.js
  • Experience with CSS3, HTML5
