Key Duties & Responsibilities

    • Install balustrades, handrails and light structural steel elements.
    • Read and interpret shop drawings.
    • Carry out MIG & TIG finishing welding to architectural standard.
    • Set up and operate various equipment including lifting equipment, mobile scaffold, MEWP, boom, harnesses, welding machines, cutting, grinding and polishing equipment, etc.
    • Record time and material used against individual works order numbers to ensure full material traceability and accurate job costing.
    • Liaise directly with site management in fluent English to ensure smooth completion of work.
    • Work to tight deadlines
    • Report any issues to management in a timely manner.
    • Solve issues as they arise and maintain progress.
    • Attend and complete all required training.
    • Adhere to company safety statement, quality manual, associated procedures, and employee handbook.
    • Have a full, clean driving licence, preferably category BE to drive company vehicle and draw trailer. Maintain inventory in company vans.
    • Team leader will be assigned a company van and will be responsible for maintaining inventory of tools, consumables, safety gear and standard fixtures & fittings.
    • Fulfil ad-hoc duties, as required by management.


Personal Profile


    • Solas-qualified M.A.M.F., or Metal Fabricator, ideally with 3+ years post-qualification experience.
    • Extensive experience carrying out comparable, referenceable work.
    • The following experience is seen as advantageous and value-adding:
  1. Pipe welding.
  2. Glass fitting.
  3. Leadership / mentoring an apprentice.
