Design Engineer (Solidworks)/CAD Technician

As we continue to expand both domestically and internationally, we are seeking a Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of robust, high-performance products.

Role Overview

This role offers the opportunity to work across the full product development lifecycle, from concept through to manufacturing. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing stainless steel components and assemblies, with a particular focus on SolidWorks and sheet metal design, ensuring all outputs meet technical, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks & Autocad 2D
  • Design and optimise sheet metal components and assemblies for manufacture
  • Translate design concepts into practical, production-ready solutions
  • Collaborate closely with production, quality, and project teams
  • Support prototype development and testing, refining designs as required
  • Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation and specifications
  • Identify opportunities for product improvement and design efficiency
  • Provide technical support to resolve design-related manufacturing issues

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related field or similar.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in design engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment focusing on stainless steel products.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in SolidWorks and Autocad 2D.
    • Strong understanding of engineering principles, material science, and manufacturing processes, particularly related to stainless steel.
    • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and simulation tools an advantage.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a focus on quality and accuracy in design.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
