Friday 27th February 2026, Killeshin Hotel, Portlaoise, 2pm-6pm

About the roles

Status: Permanent, Full Time Contract

Locations: Tullamore, Kildare, Portarlington, Roscommon, Athlone.

Working Week: Average of 40 hours a week, day and waking night shifts required

Reporting to: Person in Charge

Lotus Care provides a range of respite, residential and support services to Children & Adults with intellectual disabilities in a homely and comfortable community setting. We aim to empower people with the necessary skills to live full and satisfying lives as equal citizens of their local communities.

This role is also suitable for Social Care Assistants.

Role Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and encourage decision-making, independence, and personal development.
  • Provide support in daily living skills, including personal hygiene, health and appearance.
  • Work in a person-centred manner to meet individual care plans and goals.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures, standards, regulations, and codes of practice
  • Administer and document the dispensation of prescribed medication.
  • Undertake key worker responsibilities, helping service owners achieve goals.
  • Document and report incidents and complaints involving staff, service owners or visitors.
  • Work with MDT to achieve the goals of service owners.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum Level 7 qualification in Applied Social Studies or equivalent.(or working towards)
  • Registered (or in process) with the Social Care Workers Registration Board by CORU.
  • A full clean driving license is a strong advantage, but not essential.
  • Prior experience in social care or healthcare.
  • Working knowledge of HIQA standards and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills.
  • Garda Vetting/Police Clearance
