Stock Planner & Controller

Job Description

The Stock Planner & Controller will support the buying team in selecting, sourcing and preparing to purchase construction machinery spare parts to meet Trade Buyer needs in the Plant Hire & Sales market sector. They will conduct deep analysis of sales demand trends (using data from 24 months, 12 months and 6 months by product SKU demand), stock management and administrative tasks to ensure a smooth buying process for the main Buyer in M & S Plant Spares.
The primary focus is product demand forecasting, product  selection, monitoring pricing, stock availability and checking stock levels that need to be replenished.  
Key Responsibilities: 
  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Stock Planner &  Controller to support the efficient management of our procurement and inventory operations. 
  • You will support the main Buyer in preparing product demand forecasts in advance of commercial negotiation with suppliers in the Far East & Europe.  
  • Support the procurement team in preparation and administration of new orders. 
  • This includes demand forecasting, competitor price monitoring, preparing contracts and organising the most cost-effective shipping method. 
  • Supply chain planning to ensure that M & S has continuity of supply throughout the year. 
  • Laser focus on demand levels with the aim of avoiding stock shortages. 
  • Become involved in buying for our new B2B eCommerce Trade portal. 
 
What you’ll bring to the role: 
  • You are results orientated with strong attention to detail. 
  • You want to acquire the skills to become an experienced Stock Planner & Controller. 
  • Commercial acumen with an interest in international supply chain 
  • 2 to 3 years previous experience in a similar role 
  • Ability to work well under pressure 
  • Supporting qualifications in Procurement & Supply Chain Management is a bonus. Alternatively, you have the willingness to qualify using Online Learning hubs.
