100% of the wastes received at Gannon Eco Ltd are reprocessed into products produced at our facility or reprocessed for use as raw material for industry.
Due to ongoing expansion, we are hiring a Mechanical Fitters to support the Gannon Eco Team on site. This role suits skilled, practical individuals who take pride in workmanship, quality, and most importantly safety.

Key responsibilities:

  • Routine maintenance and servicing of plant equipment and machinery
  • Diagnosing break downs
  • Development and implementation of plant wide preventive maintenance programme
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
  • Working flexibly, including overtime and site support as required.
  • Demonstrate a lead by example approach to all aspects of Health & Safety, be fully compliant with Company Health & Safety: policies, procedures, systems, and rules, report all hazards and incidents and ensure that you always work safely.
  • Scheduling periodic testing of safety equipment and maintaining records of same through our maintenance platform
  • Recycling/Re-using parts/materials, where possible
  • Provide guidance and training for apprentice fitter on site 
  • Track all tools and parts used, and order replacements as needed.
  • Perform investigations and root cause analyses for breakdowns and faults.
  • Record all maintenance issues, machine changes, breakdowns, spares required, and recommendations.
  • Carry out project work as assigned.

Procurement & Financial Coordination Responsibilities

  • Ensure value for money in all purchasing activities by obtaining and evaluating multiple quotations from suppliers.
  • Raise and process purchase requests in line with company procedures and approval workflows.
  • Liaise effectively with the Finance Office regarding ordering, budget compliance, and invoice queries.
  • Maintain accurate records of orders, quotes, and approvals for audit and tracking purposes.
  • Monitor delivery and ensure goods/services received match specifications and purchase orders.
  • Contribute to cost control by identifying efficient sourcing options and minimising unnecessary expenditure.

 

Essential Skills, Qualifications/Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or Assembler in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • A "Can Do" Attitude and willing to progress
  • Planned and reactive mechanical maintenance
  • Breakdown response and fault finding
  • Workshop experience (machining, welding, etc.)
  • Always follow all safety standards and regulations.
  • Mechanical fitting, removal and installation works
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Experience using engineering hand tools and workshop equipment (e.g. punches, saws, benders, torquing tools)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to quality and safety
  • Good communication skills
  • Must have good English and be a good team player
  • Must be able to work on their own initiative
  • Full driving license

Desirable Skills, Qualifications/Experience:

·         Previous experience as a fitter or in a similar role is preferred

·         Some experience working in a relevant industry (quarry, sand and gravel &crushed stone)

·         Knowledge of gear boxes/electrical motors

  • Experience in a manufacturing facility, especially with concrete, precast, or construction, is a big plus.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, general machinery, and other tools.
