Job Description

Are you an experienced Digger driver/Loading shovel driver looking for a hands-on role in a high-quality manufacturing environment? If this is the case look no further than Gannon Eco in Kilbeggan in Westmeath.
100% of the wastes received at Gannon Eco Ltd are reprocessed into products produced at our facility or reprocessed for use as raw material for industry.
Due to ongoing expansion, we are hiring a Digger/loader Driver to support the Gannon Eco Team on site. 

If you've worked in a similar fast-paced and varied manufacturing environment or in construction, this may be the ideal role for you

  • Monday to Friday - no weekends
  • Permanent, long-term position

Your Responsibilities

  • Operate a loading shovel and 360 digger/excavator on site
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on the excavator and report any issues promptly to ensure machinery is in good working condition
  • Move, sort, and manage materials safely and efficiently
  • Work within a busy waste/recycling facility environment
  • Conduct daily pre-use machine checks and report defects
  • Follow all on-site health & safety procedures at all times

What You Need

  • Proven experience operating a loading shovel and/or digger
  • Relevant plant operator certification/CSCS card (preferred) but not essential
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to safety.
  • Previous experience in a waste, recycling, or civil environment (an advantage)
  • Strong health & safety awareness
  • A "Can Do" Attitude and willing to progress
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
