Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and friendly Meeting and Events Porter to join our team at the Bridge House Hotel. As a key member of the front-of-house team, the Meeting and Events Porter will play an important role in ensuring guests have a warm welcome and a comfortable stay. The ideal candidate will be someone who takes pride in presentation, and can adapt to a variety of daily tasks, someone who is dependable, proactive, and enjoys helping people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greeting guests on arrival and assist with luggage where required
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of public areas (lobby, corridors, function rooms) at all times
  • Support reception and housekeeping teams during busy periods
  • Set up and clear meeting rooms and event spaces
  • Assist with guest requests promptly and professionally
  • Monitor entrances and ensure guest safety and security
  • Carry out light maintenance duties and report any issues
  • Manage deliveries and assist with stock movement
  • Provide local information and directions to guests
  • Familiarise and keep up to date with the daily function sheet and always be a step ahead
  • Liaise regularly with conferencing and banqueting teams on any

Key Skills & Requirements

  • Previous experience (minimum 1 year experience) in hospitality
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Friendly, approachable, and professional manner
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Flexibility to work weekends and busy periods
  • Manual handling may be required
