We are an owner-managed manufacturing business based in Portarlington, Co. Laois. As the business continues to grow, we are investing in our people, processes and systems to support the next stage of development.

This is not a traditional finance role. The successful candidate will work across finance, systems and business improvement projects, helping to strengthen controls, improve reporting and support the continued digitalisation of the business.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual Management and Statutory accounts.
  • Manage Bookkeepers, ensure month end time table is issued and adhered to and all reconciliations are reviewed and completed in a timely manner.
  • Cashflow actuals and forecasting, multicurrency.
  • Payroll and reporting requirements, Sage payroll an advantage.
  • Strong Excel Skills.
  • Keeping sensitive firm and client information strictly confidential.
  • Interested in how the business and processes flow.
  • Understand invoicing, intricacies of dealing with Finance Houses for our builds.
  • Ensuring all transactions are in compliance with financial regulations.
  • A high level of commitment and self-motivation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability and confidence explaining what the numbers mean, and how these are impacting current and future projections.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in IT.
  • Honesty, integrity and trustworthiness, always.
  • Verifying information and developing spreadsheet reports to analyse options and information.
  • Past experience with new ERP implementation, desirable.
  • Understand product costings and Bill of Material implications on Financials.
  • Past experience in Industry with stock is desirable for this role.
  • Interested in developing a paperless accounting department as we continue to digitalise the operations.
  • Qualified Accountant is required, OR candidate with strong industrial experience in latter stages of professional exams.
  • A good understanding of HR and leadership

Approx 60 percent of the role will be systems and project focused and 40 percent in supporting day to day finance and reporting.

Salary 65K euro and over depending on the candidate
