We’re looking for a Senior Energy Engineer with 5–7 years’ experience who is technically strong, commercially minded and enjoys being customer-facing. This is a role for someone who wants to do more than just energy studies — you’ll take ownership of client relationships, identify and develop new business opportunities, and support customers from the initial conversation right through to the delivery of energy efficiency projects.
You’ll work directly with customers to identify opportunities, develop energy solutions and present commercially compelling proposals. You’ll also play an important role in growing our client base through business development, networking, referrals and identifying new opportunities within existing accounts.
You’ll have the opportunity to work across our wider service lines, from energy management software and audits to grant support and project delivery. You’ll also support and mentor more junior engineers as the team continues to grow.

Bachelor's degree in Energy, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, with a minimum of 5 years’ relevant industry experience.
Strong hands-on experience in building services, energy efficiency, energy management, Measurement & Verification (M&V) or related fields.
Ideally certified in IPMVP and/or CEM, with a proven track record in energy management and energy efficiency audits.
Strong commercial awareness with experience developing proposals, financial justifications and identifying opportunities for clients.
Proven ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
Exceptional attention to detail and strong project management skills.
Proactive, self-driven and capable of working autonomously with strong initiative.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence presenting to clients and stakeholders.
Ability to adapt quickly and thrive in a fast-paced, growing business.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with an interest in developing the next generation of engineers.
Lead energy audits and feasibility studies for clients, including SI 426, ESG, ISO 50001 and ISO 14001 projects.
Identify energy efficiency opportunities and develop technically and commercially viable solutions.
Develop robust financial justifications and business cases for proposed energy efficiency projects.
Prepare and present project proposals directly to clients.
Manage key client relationships from initial engagement through to project delivery.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, referrals, existing client relationships and proactive outreach.
Support the wider sales process, including proposals, tenders and commercial negotiations.
Coordinate with contractors and project partners to arrange site visits and develop accurate project quotations.
Work across Watt Footprint’s wider service offering, including energy management software, grant applications and project delivery.
Support the development and mentoring of junior engineers.
Contribute to the continued development of Watt Footprint’s services, processes and commercial strategy.
Salary of €50,000–€60,000, depending on experience.
Quarterly bonus structure linked to business development and company targets.
