Bodyshop Engineer / Technician / Operative

About the Role

Are you an experienced Bodyshop Engineer, Bodyshop Technician or Bodyshop Operative looking to take the next step in your career?

Our client is looking for a practical and skilled individual to join their team in Naas, Co. Kildare. This is a hands-on role involving bench joinery, bodywork repairs and general maintenance across a specialist temperature-controlled hire fleet.

Working from job sheets and agreed deadlines, you will be responsible for ensuring equipment is repaired, maintained and prepared to a high standard, ready for rental.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out authorised repairs using a variety of power and hand tools, working accurately to job sheets and agreed timescales.
• Complete joinery work, including studded walls, door frames and apertures, ensuring work is completed to the required measurements and specifications.
• Prepare units for painting or sanding by thoroughly cleaning internal and external areas, de-masking and replacing ancillary components as required.
• Ensure all tools, equipment and machinery are maintained in a safe and operational condition, reporting any defects or concerns to your supervisor.
• Work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure equipment is completed and ready for rental within required timescales.
• Complete all relevant documentation accurately and promptly, including records of stock and materials used.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment at all times.

About You

You will be a practical, reliable and detail-oriented individual who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship. You will understand the importance of maintaining equipment to a safe, professional and rental-ready standard while working effectively as part of a team.

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience in joinery, bodywork repairs, bodyshop operations or a similar hands-on engineering environment.
• Good practical skills and confidence using a range of power and hand tools.
• The ability to read and follow job sheets, measurements and instructions accurately.
• A strong commitment to health and safety, both within the workshop and when working on customer sites.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to work effectively to deadlines.
• A proactive approach to identifying and reporting issues to your line manager.
• A positive attitude towards teamwork, quality and customer service.
