About the Role

We are looking for a practical, reliable and detail-oriented Bodyshop Engineer to join our team in Naas, Co. Kildare.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a variety of bodywork repairs, joinery, maintenance and preparation work on our hire fleet. Working from job sheets and agreed timescales, you will help ensure our equipment is maintained to a high standard and is safe, presentable and ready for rental.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their workmanship, enjoys working with tools and is comfortable working across a varied range of repair and maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out authorised repairs and maintenance to fleet equipment, working accurately from job sheets and to agreed deadlines.
  • Complete a range of bodywork and joinery repairs using appropriate power and hand tools.
  • Carry out site joinery work, including the construction and repair of studded walls, door frames, apertures and other structures, ensuring work is completed to the required measurements and specifications.
  • Prepare units for painting, sanding and finishing by thoroughly cleaning internal and external areas.
  • Carry out de-masking, cleaning and replacement of ancillary components as required.
  • Ensure all tools, equipment and machinery are maintained in a safe and operational condition, reporting any defects, damage or safety concerns to your supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment within the workshop and work areas.
  • Work closely with the Bodyshop Supervisor, Mobile Engineers and Operations Team to ensure equipment is completed and ready for rental within required timescales.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork and documentation accurately and promptly, including records of stock, materials and parts used.
  • Identify and report any significant problems or additional repair requirements to your line manager at the earliest opportunity.
  • Support other duties, projects and operational requirements as required.

About You

You will be a practical, dependable and hands-on individual who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship. You will understand the importance of maintaining equipment to a safe, professional and rental-ready standard and be comfortable working as part of a busy team.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous experience in bodywork, joinery, bodyshop operations, maintenance, construction or a similar hands-on environment.
  • Good practical skills and confidence using a range of power and hand tools.
  • The ability to read and follow job sheets, measurements, drawings and instructions accurately.
  • Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • The ability to work effectively to agreed timescales and deadlines.
  • A strong commitment to health and safety, both within the workshop and when working on customer sites.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to keep work areas, tools and equipment clean and orderly.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and reporting issues to your supervisor or line manager.
  • A positive attitude towards teamwork, quality and customer service.
  • Flexibility to undertake a variety of tasks and special projects when required.

Experience with refrigerated, temperature-controlled or rental equipment would be advantageous but is not essential, as full support will be provided to the right candidate.

You will also be expected to provide a high standard of customer service and represent the company professionally at all times.
