Job Description

Workshop Repair & Refurbishment Operative

Location: Naas, Co. Kildare

The Role:

We’re looking for a practical, hands-on person who enjoys fixing things, working with tools and getting stuck into a variety of jobs.

Working as part of a busy workshop team, you’ll help repair, maintain and refurbish equipment within a hire fleet, ensuring everything is in good condition and ready for its next customer.

This varied role would suit someone who is good with their hands, enjoys problem-solving and can turn their hand to different tasks. Experience in carpentry, joinery, bodywork, general repairs or refurbishment would be useful, but a practical attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Carrying out general repairs and refurbishment of equipment.
  • Using hand and power tools to fix, assemble and replace components.
  • Undertaking basic carpentry and joinery, including fitting doors, frames and panels.
  • Preparing surfaces for painting and finishing.
  • Cleaning, inspecting and preparing equipment for hire.
  • Keeping tools, equipment and the workshop clean, organised and safe.
  • Working with colleagues to complete jobs to a good standard and on time.

What We're Looking For:

  • Someone practical who enjoys fixing, building or making things.
  • Comfortable using basic hand and power tools.
  • Good attention to detail and pride in doing a job properly.
  • A reliable, hands-on approach and willingness to get involved.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A sensible approach to health and safety.

Previous experience in a workshop, construction, carpentry, joinery, vehicle repairs, maintenance, refurbishment or a similar hands-on environment would be an advantage.

The key thing is having a practical mindset, a willingness to learn and the ability to turn your hand to different jobs.
