We are looking for an experienced timber machinist with strong 4-side moulder skills to join our production team. This role suits someone who is confident setting up, running and maintaining high-precision woodworking machinery and who takes pride in producing accurate, consistent finishes across a range of premium timber products.
Responsibilities
• Set up and operate a 4-side moulder for cladding, decking and bespoke profiles
• Read and interpret drawings, measurements and profile specifications
• Carry out machine adjustments, tooling changes and quality checks
• Monitor moisture, feed speeds and finish quality throughout production
• Keep accurate records of runs, lengths, yields and any defects
• Basic maintenance, lubrication, knife changes and safe-operation checks
• Work with the wider production team on efficient flow and safe handling
• Maintain a clean, organised work area
Requirements
• Previous experience operating a 4-side moulder (Weinig, Leadermac, SCM or similar)
• Strong understanding of timber behaviour, defects, and machining properties
• Ability to work to tight tolerances and meet production targets
• Comfortable using measuring equipment and setting tooling accurately
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Reliable, punctual and safety-focused
• Forklift experience an advantage but not essential
