About the Role:
We are seeking a Staff Grade Speech and Language Therapy position Adult Acute Services in Co Meath
Key responsibilities:

• Assess, diagnose and treat communication (speech, language, voice, fluency) and swallowing (dysphagia) issues in patients, working within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to provide care for diverse conditions and disorders.
  
• Focus on rehabilitation, functional improvement and supportive care for both patients and families
  
• Adult Acute and both acquired communication and eating drinking and swallowing disorders make up the caseload.
  
• Patient cohorts are Gen Medical, Surgical, Orthopaedics, Renal, Critical care, Frailty, Oncology and Haematology.
  
• Specialized assessment, creating treatment plans, managing complex caseloads, educating families, and contributing to MDT goal setting.
  
• Reporting to onsite SLT Manager and Senior SLTs.
  
• Supervision is provided in house.
  

Essential criteria:

• CORU registration as a Speech & Language Therapist
  
• Recognised SLT qualification (BSc/MSc).
  
• Experience (placement or post-graduate) in a hospital setting, particularly in acute wards
  
• Strong skills in assessment (including standardised tools), intervention planning, and report writing.
  
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and prioritisation skills.
