This position will liaise with the Risk & Compliance function, report to the Senior Management Team and be accountable to the CEO. The purpose of this position is to support the Risk & Compliance function within St. Brigid’s Credit Union Ltd. to include but not limited to Compliance, Risk, Anti-Money Laundering, Data Protection and Operational Resilience.
The successful candidate will carry out a range of activities in line with the regulatory requirements of the Credit Union. Key Responsibilities:
• Assist and support the Senior Management Team in the area of Compliance
• Conduct compliance assurance testing on key processes – AML, Data Protection and Operational Resilience
• Assist the Risk & Compliance Function with regular risk assessments across the credit union
• Assist with updates to the risk management framework
• Promote a culture of Risk Management throughout the organisation
• Assist with policy updates, and maintaining documents
• Co-ordinate the information gathering requirements to support the work of Internal Audit, Risk & Compliance etc
• Monitor the status of all open recommendations from across Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, AML, DP to ensure that recommendations are implemented within the stated deadlines
• Assisting with the creation of reports for review by the Senior Management Team and/or Board of Directors – e.g for AML, DP and Operational Resilience
• Maintain knowledge and skills in good practices in compliance and risk management
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
• Support the Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer with the delivery of the AML monitoring plan and reporting
• Support the Data Protection Officer with delivery of the Data Protection work plan and reporting

• Experience in working in a financial services or office environment is desirable but not essential
• Previous Risk and Compliance experience essential
• Risk and/or Compliance qualification desirable
• QFA qualification desirable (or actively working towards obtaining a qualification) in line with the Minimum Competency Code (MCC) set out by the Central Bank
• Successful candidates will be expected to meet the Central Bank Fitness & Probity standards
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of team
