On behalf of our client in the public health, we are now recruiting for a Senior Speech and Language therapist on a full-time basis. The role is based in the Westmeath area. The chosen candidate will provide speech and language and occupational therapy support to users with complex needs in the area.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Speech and Language Therapist will:
- Deliver comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment planning for service users with complex needs
- Exercise advanced clinical judgement in managing complex caseloads
- Conduct assessments and interventions across a range of clinical and community settings
- Communicate assessment findings, care plans, and recommendations clearly to service users, families, and relevant professionals
- Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality clinical documentation in line with professional and organisational standards
- Collaborate closely with service users, families, and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualised care plans
- Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and support to junior staff and students
- Promote high standards of professional practice and contribute to team performance and development
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and external agencies
- Provide specialist input in communication and swallowing disorders (dysphagia)
- Participate in service development, quality improvement initiatives, and policy development
- Contribute to health promotion and prevention initiatives
- Ensure adherence to professional ethics, confidentiality, and relevant legislation
- Work within all applicable professional, clinical, and organisational guidelines
- Engage in ongoing professional development, training, and clinical supervision
- Contribute to effective risk management, health and safety practices
- Support service coordination, including administrative responsibilities and resource allocation as required
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy
- Eligibility for registration with the relevant professional body
- Proven experience managing complex caseloads
- Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
- Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice
Pay: Salary will be in line with the current Department of Health pay scale.
