On behalf of our public sector client, we are recruiting a Senior Social Worker for the children's disability network team in Westmeath. The successful candidate will deliver a high-quality, person-centred social work service within a multidisciplinary team, supporting service users with complex mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive psychosocial assessments, interventions, discharge planning, and follow-up care
- Manage a defined caseload, including complex cases requiring advanced expertise
- Work in line with CORU standards, ethical guidelines, and relevant HSE policies
- Promote recovery-oriented, recovery-focused and person-centred practice
- Advocate for service users and support self-advocacy where appropriate
- Contribute to multidisciplinary care planning and integrated service delivery
- Liaise effectively with statutory, voluntary, and community services
- Support safe and timely discharge planning in collaboration with families and teams
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with GDPR, FOI, and organisational standards
- Provide supervision, support, and leadership to staff and students
- Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and service development initiatives
- Contribute to quality improvement, audits, policy development, and service planning
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and risk management procedures
- Engage in continuous professional development and reflective practice
- Contribute to training, mentoring, and education of staff and students
- Stay informed on national policies, legislation, and best practice developments
Requirements
- Qualification in Social Work and eligibility for CORU registration
- Experience in mental health or a relevant clinical setting
- Strong assessment, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
