Social Care Worker

Job Description

On behalf of our client in public health, we are now recruiting Social Care Workers to join a residential service for adults with an intellectual disability. These are long-term temporary contracts, with part-time and full time positions available.

Main Duties

  • Working with service users with intellectual disabilities
  • To participate in the development and implementation of service user Care and Placement Plans and to ensure appropriate recording of same.
  • To promote the rights and responsibilities of service users.
  • To promote welfare of service users
  • To attend team meetings and to report to the Manager on matters affecting the delivery of service.
  • To make written and verbal reports to the Manager on a regular basis on the progress / development of service user care plans.
  • Reporting and recording any incidents, however minor, that may happen in the course of duty.
  • To be familiar with emergency procedures and to know who to contact in an emergency.
  • To work as a member of a team.
  • To implement relevant procedures and policies.
  • To undertake ongoing professional training and development.
  • To attend regular clinical supervision with external provider.
  • To perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements:

  • A recognised Social Care qualification
  • CORU registration, or proof of application for CORU registration
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Strong administration and ICT skills
  • High communication skills and strong written and spoken English

Pay: Salary will be in line with the current Department of Health pay scale.
