Key Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Manage the day-to-day operation of the fabrication yard, stores, and loading areas to ensure safe, efficient workflow and material control.
  2. Coordinate the receipt, inspection, storage, and dispatch of components, sub-assemblies, fixings and finished goods.
  3. Maintain accurate stock levels through regular cycle counts, inventory control systems, and material reconciliation.
  4. Organise yard logistics, including loading/unloading deliveries, gantry crane and forklift movements, and allocation of storage space.
  5. Work closely with workshop supervisors and project managers to ensure raw material, fabricated items and consumables are available in line with production schedules.
  6. Supervise and support yard and stores personnel, ensuring high standards of housekeeping, safety, productivity, and accountability.
  7. Adhere to and impose safe systems of work, including manual handling, lifting operations, traffic management, PPE compliance, and equipment inspections.
  8. Monitor and maintain plant, tools, lifting gear, and yard equipment, arranging servicing or repairs where required.
  9. Liaise with suppliers, transport providers, and subcontractors regarding deliveries, collections, shortages, and damaged goods.
  10. Drive continuous improvement in yard organisation, stock accuracy, efficiency, and operational performance across the business.

Skills-Based Competency Requirements

  1. Strong experience in stores, yard, warehouse, or logistics management within a fabrication, engineering, construction, or manufacturing environment.
  2. Competent in stock control systems, inventory management, delivery documentation, and material tracking processes.
  3. Ability to operate and coordinate forklifts, overhead gantry cranes, and lifting operations safely and efficiently.
  4. Good understanding of health & safety requirements relating to fabrication workshops, steel handling, and industrial yard operations.
  5. Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and coordinate effectively with fabrication and site teams.

  2. Reliable, disciplined, and capable of maintaining high standards under pressure.
  3. Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, organisation, and problem-solving.

Minimum Remuneration €35,490 gross per annum. This is representative of a 39 hour week and minimum pay of €17.50 per hour. Base rate of pay may be subject to increase based on skill and experience.

Standard Working Hours Mon-Thu 08:00 to 17:00 and Fri 08:00 to 13:00. Any hours worked outside of standard rostered hours is paid at a rate of time and a half.
