Job Description

As a Sales Development Representative at Watt Footprint, you will play a key role in driving the growth of the business by identifying, engaging, and qualifying potential customers. You’ll be the first point of contact for many organisations beginning their energy efficiency journey, helping them understand where they may be wasting energy and how Watt Footprint can support them.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys speaking with people, asking smart questions, and uncovering opportunities. You’ll work closely with the Sales and Marketing teams to build a strong pipeline of qualified leads, setting up the wider sales team for success while developing your own commercial skills in a fast-growing energy-tech company.

You’ll have clear ownership of your targets and activities, with the support, training, and tools needed to succeed. As the company grows, there is strong potential for progression into a Sales Executive or broader commercial role.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage potential customers through outbound outreach, inbound leads, events, and campaigns.

  • Qualify leads by understanding customer needs, challenges, and readiness to engage.

  • Book high-quality meetings and product demonstrations.

  • Maintain accurate records of leads, activities, and conversations within the CRM.

  • Work closely with Marketing to follow up on campaigns, events, and content-driven leads.

  • Develop a strong understanding of Watt Footprint’s platform, services, and value proposition.

  • Consistently meet or exceed activity and pipeline targets.

  • Provide feedback to the sales and product teams based on customer conversations and market insights.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience working as a Sales Development Representative (SDR) or in a closely related BDR role.

  • Proven experience in outbound prospecting and lead qualification.

  • Strong communication skills and confidence speaking with customers by phone, video, and email.

  • Comfortable working towards targets and managing your own workload.

  • Highly organised with good attention to detail.

  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
