Social Work Team Lead

On behalf of our clients in the public health sector, we are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Social Work Team Lead to provide professional leadership, operational oversight, and clinical supervision to a multidisciplinary social work team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring high-quality, person-centred services while supporting staff development, service improvement, and compliance with professional and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and support a team of social workers and related professionals.
  • Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and evidence-based social work services.
  • Provide clinical and professional supervision, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Manage caseload allocation and workforce planning to meet service demands.
  • Promote safeguarding, risk management, and quality assurance practices.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, community agencies, and key stakeholders.
  • Contribute to service development, policy implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor service performance and prepare reports as required.
  • Support recruitment, induction, and ongoing professional development of team members.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualification in Social Work recognised by the relevant professional registration body.
  • Current registration with the appropriate social work regulatory authority.
  • Significant post-qualification social work experience, including experience in health, community, or public sector settings.
  • Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, or management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, adult protection, and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead teams, manage change, and work effectively within multidisciplinary environments.

Work Location: In person

Pay: Salary will be in line with the current Department of Health pay scale.
