Job Description

On behalf of our client in public health, we are currently seeking Social Workers to join a residential service supporting adults with an intellectual disability. These opportunities are available on long-term temporary contracts, with both full-time and part-time options on offer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to adults with intellectual disabilities within a residential care setting
  • Contribute to the preparation, review, and implementation of individual Care and Placement Plans, ensuring all documentation is accurately maintained
  • Advocate for and uphold the rights, dignity, and responsibilities of service users
  • Safeguard and promote the overall wellbeing of individuals in care
  • Participate in multidisciplinary and team meetings, providing updates and reporting relevant issues to the Service Manager
  • Prepare clear and timely written and verbal updates on service user progress and care planning
  • Record and report any incidents or concerns, no matter how minor, in line with policy
  • Be fully aware of and adhere to emergency and escalation procedures
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Follow organisational policies, procedures, and best practice guidelines
  • Engage in continuous professional development and ongoing training
  • Attend regular external clinical supervision sessions
  • Undertake additional reasonable duties as required by management

Essential Requirements

  • Recognised qualification in Social Care or equivalent field
  • Registration with CORU, or evidence of an active application
  • Demonstrable experience working in a similar social care or residential setting
  • Strong administrative abilities and confident use of ICT systems
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English
