On behalf of our client in public health, we are currently seeking Social Workers to join a residential service supporting adults with an intellectual disability. These opportunities are available on long-term temporary contracts, with both full-time and part-time options on offer.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to adults with intellectual disabilities within a residential care setting
- Contribute to the preparation, review, and implementation of individual Care and Placement Plans, ensuring all documentation is accurately maintained
- Advocate for and uphold the rights, dignity, and responsibilities of service users
- Safeguard and promote the overall wellbeing of individuals in care
- Participate in multidisciplinary and team meetings, providing updates and reporting relevant issues to the Service Manager
- Prepare clear and timely written and verbal updates on service user progress and care planning
- Record and report any incidents or concerns, no matter how minor, in line with policy
- Be fully aware of and adhere to emergency and escalation procedures
- Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Follow organisational policies, procedures, and best practice guidelines
- Engage in continuous professional development and ongoing training
- Attend regular external clinical supervision sessions
- Undertake additional reasonable duties as required by management
Essential Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Social Care or equivalent field
- Registration with CORU, or evidence of an active application
- Demonstrable experience working in a similar social care or residential setting
- Strong administrative abilities and confident use of ICT systems
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English
