Pay Rate: €18.00 per hour (depending on experience)

At Robinson, we specialise in the manufacture of HGV trailers, cranes, tippers, and truck bodies. We are expanding our team and are seeking an experienced and motivated General Operative / Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing facility.

Location:

Portnahinch, Portarlington, Co. Laois, Ireland (R32 CD40)

Role Overview:

As an Assembly Technician, you will play a key role in the production and assembly of high-quality trailers and related equipment. Working within a skilled team, you will be responsible for assembling components to a high standard while adhering to safety and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assembling HGV trailers using pre-manufactured parts and pre-made looms
  • Working with hydraulic and electrical systems, including:
  • Hydraulic plumbing using nylon hose
  • Hydraulic and electrical wiring
  • Installation of pre-assembled wiring looms
  • Reading and interpreting hydraulic and electrical diagrams
  • Carrying out hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting as required
  • Working independently on assigned tasks while contributing as part of a team
  • Maintaining a tidy, organised, and safe work area
  • Adhering to all Health & Safety policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Ensuring all work meets Robinson’s quality and workmanship standards

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience or strong interest in cars, machinery, hydraulics, or mechanical assembly
  • Background in agricultural machinery, plant machinery, or heavy equipment manufacturing (desirable)
  • Good knowledge of hydraulic systems and components
  • Experience with hydraulic plumbing and wiring
  • Ability to read and understand hydraulic and electrical schematics
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and well organised
