We are seeking Cut and Bent Rebar Machine Operators at our Mountmellick location.
The Operator is responsible for the production of customised reinforcement bars (rebar) used in construction projects. Their primary role involves operating machinery and equipment in a factory environment to cut, bend, shape, and fabricate rebar according to specific project requirements.
The operative is responsible for operating automated rebar cutting and bending machines, ensuring proper setup, calibration, and adherence to safety guidelines.
Receives work orders or specifications and prepares the rebar accordingly. This includes measuring and marking the rebar, selecting the appropriate cutting and bending patterns, and adjusting the machine settings accordingly.
Depending on the project requirements, the operative sets up the bending machine to create various shapes and angles in the rebar.
Inspects the cut and bent rebar to ensure it meets the specified dimensions, angles, and quality standards. Use measuring tools and gauges to verify accuracy and make adjustments as necessary.
Handles and transports rebar within the manufacturing facility. Following appropriate training, may use forklifts, cranes or other equipment to move the rebar safely.
Performs routine maintenance tasks on the machinery, such as cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs. Troubleshoot equipment issues and communicate any major malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
