Printing Operator –  Mullingar

Job Purpose

The Printing Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of printing equipment used in the production of medical device and/or healthcare packaging components. Graphic Printing experience is desirable. The role involves machine setup, operation, quality inspection, troubleshooting and completion of production documentation in accordance with company procedures and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and monitor printing machinery in accordance with approved procedures and production schedules.
• Complete machine changeovers and ensure equipment is correctly configured for each production run.
• Load and position materials correctly and ensure appropriate inks, tooling and other production materials are available.
• Monitor print quality throughout production and make adjustments where required.
• Carry out in-process quality inspections and identify defects or deviations.
• Ensure correct print positioning, legibility, registration and overall product quality.
• Complete start-up, in-process and final quality checks.
• Record production quantities, rejects, downtime and other relevant information accurately.
• Complete batch records, production documentation and quality documentation in accordance with GMP/company procedures.
• Follow SOPs, work instructions and health & safety procedures at all times.
• Maintain a clean and organised production area.
• Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of printing equipment.
• Identify machine faults and escalate technical issues to the appropriate department.
• Minimise waste and production downtime while maintaining required quality standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the production area.
• Work effectively with Production, Quality, Engineering and other departments.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience in a manufacturing, production or machine-operating environment.
• Experience operating production machinery or automated equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality defects.
• Ability to follow SOPs, work instructions and detailed production procedures.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to accurately complete production and quality documentation.
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work shifts, if required.

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience as a Graphic Printing Operator / Print Machine Operator.
• Experience with flexographic, digital or other industrial printing equipment.
• Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, packaging or other regulated manufacturing.
• Knowledge of GMP/ISO quality systems.
• Experience with machine changeovers and troubleshooting.
• Experience working with inks, substrates, tooling and print registration.
• Previous experience working in a cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environment.
