Commercial Administration, Service Support, Logistics & Materials Control

Salary: 38,000 - 45,000 DOE

The Opportunity

ACS Drives is seeking to appoint an experienced business operations professional to the role of Business Operations Support.

This is a broad, hands-on operational role covering commercial administration, service support, logistics, shipping, stores and materials control. It requires strong business-wide awareness gained through similar operational experience.

Commercial administration and service support will initially be carried out under the guidance of the Senior Service Coordinator, with increasing independence expected as ACS systems, procedures and protocols become familiar.

Logistics, shipping, stores and materials control will be owned from an early stage. As familiarity with ACS operations develops, the role will also involve auditing existing systems, records and procedures, and contributing to improvement or redesign where required.

There is significant scope for career development as operational understanding, competency and trust develop.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Administration & Service Support

  • Support quotations, purchase order follow-up, customer records and commercial documentation.
  • Liaise with accounts, service, sales and management teams on relevant administration.
  • Support service scheduling, job updates, customer follow-up and service records.
  • Follow up on delayed responses, incomplete documentation and open actions.
  • Develop increasing independence as systems, procedures and requirements become familiar.

Logistics, Shipping & Materials Control

  • Take ownership of goods in/out, including parts, products, consumables, deliveries, collections and returns.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, couriers, customers and internal teams on deliveries, shipping details and site requirements.
  • Check incoming and outgoing deliveries against orders, delivery notes and internal requirements.
  • Track parts, products and consumables from order through to receipt, storage, allocation and issue.
  • Maintain organised stores, stock information, delivery documentation, parts records and materials flow.
  • Over time, audit existing logistics, stores, stock control and materials-control systems, and contribute to improvement or redesign where required.

Systems, Records & Process Improvement

  • Identify practical improvements that help the business operate more efficiently.
  • Help ensure records, workflows, handovers and follow-up processes are clear, accurate and reliable.
  • Apply business-wide awareness when prioritising tasks and understanding the impact of delays, missing information, poor records, stock issues or delivery problems.

About You

We are looking for someone with strong relevant experience, reliable follow-through, ownership of tasks and business-wide awareness gained from similar operational environments.

The successful candidate must have:

  • strong administration, organisation and follow-through skills;
  • excellent attention to detail and accuracy;
  • strong written, verbal and numerical reasoning;
  • strong business awareness and an understanding of how different business functions connect;
  • previous experience in administration, business support, commercial administration, service support, stores, logistics, inventory control, purchasing, accounts administration or similar;
  • strong hands-on experience in logistics, shipping, stores, inventory control, goods in/out, parts, consumables or materials control;
  • confidence working with quotations, purchase orders, delivery notes, supplier records, stock records, job records and customer information;
  • experience using systems such as Sage, accounts software, ERP, CRM, job management or stock control systems;
  • the ability to manage competing priorities accurately and within required timeframes;
  • experience improving, auditing or redesigning systems, records, workflows or procedures.

A relevant qualification in business, administration, accounting, logistics, supply chain, business systems is required. Experience in stores, logistics, stock control, technical administration, service operations or systems improvement would be a strong advantage.
