Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Produce and revise detailed 2D and 3D engineering drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD for bespoke architectural metalwork, modular systems, and OEM products.
- Assist the estimating and sales teams with material take-offs, preliminary design reviews, cost estimates, and preparation of customer quotations.
- Support project delivery by generating and managing works orders, bills of materials, and production documentation within Statii ERP.
- Maintain accurate batch traceability, material allocations, drawing revisions, and production records in line with company quality procedures.
- Record and allocate engineering and design hours accurately to projects to support commercial tracking and operational efficiency.
- Liaise directly with customer design managers, architects, project managers, and internal production teams to coordinate technical requirements and resolve design queries.
- Support the development and standardisation of modular and OEM product ranges through repeatable design systems, libraries, and lean engineering processes.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives within the design office, including document control, workflow optimisation, and design automation opportunities.
- Participate in site visits, production reviews, and project coordination meetings to develop practical understanding of fabrication and installation processes.
- Contribute to a collaborative, hands-on engineering environment while developing technical, commercial, and project management skills across the business.
Skills-Based Competency Requirements
- Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Manufacturing Engineering, Architectural Technology, or a related discipline.
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD, with the ability to produce accurate technical drawings and 3D models.
- Strong numerical and analytical ability, with an interest in estimating, costing, and manufacturing processes.
- Good IT and administrative skills, with the ability to learn and operate ERP/MRP systems such as Statii.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively across engineering, production, and commercial teams.
