EHS Specialist

What You Need to Know:
An exciting opportunity is open for an EHS Specialist to join a well-established organisation, where you’ll champion best practices in environmental, health, and safety. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a positive impact on site safety culture and ensuring high standards of compliance.
Your New Job:
Reporting to the Plant Manager, you’ll act as a trusted advisor to site leadership. You’ll play a central part in managing risk, supporting operational improvements, and driving forward site-wide safety and environmental performance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant Environmental, Health & Safety regulations and standards.
• Maintain and improve the Environmental Management System in line with ISO 14001.
• Represent the site during regulatory audits and monitor progress on ISO 14001 targets.
• Develop, implement, and update EHS policies, programs, and training.
• Work with contractors to ensure adherence to safety standards and oversee permitting processes.
• Set, track, and report on site EHS goals and metrics.
• Conduct audits, surveys, and investigations; recommend and follow up on corrective actions.
• Lead emergency preparedness activities, including drills and staff training.
• Participate in corporate EHS committees and complete all required reporting.

What Are We Looking For?:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health & Safety.
• Strong training skills, ideally with a QQI Level 6 Train the Trainer or equivalent.
• Experience in a similar EHS role within a manufacturing setting.
• Solid knowledge of ISO 14001; experience with ISO 45001 is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication skills, sound judgement, and a collaborative attitude.
